With my Greddy catback you cant even hear the exhaust at all. The only noise heard is the type-s bov which I feel ricer about sometimes. =(

well the open downpipe will give you better spool times over full exhaust systems.

with my car having larger camshafts kinda muffler the sound of the whistle of the turbo at idle, becuase it gives ti that aggressive tone, so i would say getting that whistle would definitly depends on how aggressive your setup is.

^ No it has nothing to do with what your setup is... all it depends on the amount of sound restriction you have on the exhaust system.

If you run no resonator/muffler you will hear it from a side exit. if you run anything it will be less apparent. Sall it is

If you want to hear the whistle you will have to pay for it with the crazy banshee screams it will blow at wot... open exhaust is LOOOOOUD

i meant as far as camshafts, some camshafts give the exhaust a real aggressive note, which almost all u can hear, but you are right restrictions will limit if you can hear the whistle or not

true. on the turbocharged road race cars that run straight pipes you can hear the turbo very clearly. the resonator and muffler are supposed to absorb those high frequency sound waves.

I have the whistle when i let off the clutch and more fuel dumps in the motor, but the most evident whistle is when im pushing 35lbs of it on the top end.......Sr20 ricers

Is this the sound you're talking about
Wait a few seconds for it to start, it was taken at night.

Open downpipe FTW...... Thats why i love it. Nice whistle at idle and part throttle, then just nice loud, but to me not too loud deep turbo induced exhaust sound.

here is a vid of it at idle and reving up. Open greddy 3" turbo outlet pipe. Only about 8" of pipe dumping right in front of the motor.

i have my intake drawing air from the where the fog light sits. You can slightly here it at idle. But with a little rev that thing screams.
