2005 Spec V transmission was used.

I just tried repairing my rear motor mount. I used Window Weld to fill in the major gap in the mount created by abuse. The motor mount was hammered and there was a 1/2" gap around the bolt sleeve. I just filled in the gap in hopes it will help cushion the mount from further abuse. I may end up replacing the mount with a higher durometer urethane, or just getting a solid mount made. I am trying to fix some rattles, and quiet the car a bit. So I want some cushion there.

I have a small coolant leak I need to track down. It is above the starter so I will be removing the starter to see if I can isolate where it is coming from. It is a very very slow leak, but it's enough to be annoying.

I replaced the driver's side transmission seal a few months ago, but now the passenger side has decided to leak. Again, a very very slow leak, but I notice seeping around the seal. A nice drip was starting to form on the bottom of the transmission.

There is a screw on the axle bracket that holds the two halves together. It is one of a couple screws in the aluminum axle bracket, and it has worked its way loose. Time to take the axle out, replace the seal, fix the loose screws with some loctite. Then I am going to replace the oil sending unit that just blew up. Change the oil and filter and a few more tweaks and it should be good for the summer.

The fender liners still need to be put in. They rub the large 225-45r17 tires when on full lock. So I didn't put them in. But now all the pieces of burnt rubber are starting to line the inside of the fender wells. Ah, I'll just assume that's sound-deadening material now. Heh, heh.

I am going to be going underneath the car and searching for things to put rust prevention stuff on. The winter saw some salty roads and I want to do what I can to prevent rust.

The car runs 10 to 10.5psig boost when hot outside, and up to 13psi when it is really cold. That 3psi makes a huge difference in the way the car feels. But it's fast either way.

What did you do about the top bolt? Were there something to bolt it to up top?

When talking with Marty at RAXLES, he said when he took the outer joint from the B14 and tried to put it on the SPECV axle, the axles were not compatible. The outer joint for the B14 has a different spline setup than the SpecV.

But it has been done for other people before, so I know it is possible. I looked into the joints and this is what I found.

B13/B14 GA16 Use a ZF90 style outer joint.
B13/B14 SR20 use a BF83 style outer joint.
B15 QG18 AND SpecV use a ZF90 style outer joint.
B15 SR20 use a BF83 style outer joint.
Altimas use a BF90 style outer joint.

So it looks like the outer CV from any GA16 will work for the specV axles. They should hav e the same spline count. You just have to get the axle that has the correct joint style and splines to fit your hub/axle combination. The ZF90 joint comes in a bunch of different configurations though, it has to. The ZF90 joint was used in the GA as well as the SpecV even though the hub splines are larger on the Spec.

The BF83 has always been used for the SR20 cars. The G20 uses the same outer joints as the B13/B14 but the G20 uses a little bit bigger outer cv. 36mm nut.

So I think we can take the ZF90 from the B14 GA16 axle, and slap it on the SpecV shaft. It will bolt right in on the B14 chassis without modification to the brakes or wheels or hubs. This will save lots of money from changing everything over. Let me know what you guys think.

Has any one successfully mated spec-v to B13/14 axles Recently?

yeah, actually I'm using the top bolt. It is flanged with a washer-type surface on the head of the bolt. I am using this to pinch the edge of the pedal assembly.

I hope my B13 has something up there for me to bolt it to

sorry for all the late night questions.. but i finally came across a donor car to pull parts from, and im slowly getting all the parts I need.

The B13 and B14 pedals are the same or mount up very similar right?

I am going to read up on this. Since I'm thinking of converting from CVT to m/t on my P11-144. Btw: there is a guy in Greeds who might be reading about this also, at this time, he owns the maybe fastest P11-144 in Europe.

Hey, Coheed great thread especially with those photos for reference. You or someone might be able to help me out.

Need to know the internal spline count of the B15 SpecV's outer CV please? OEM version, and if a pattern version is different, that too. I guess that those that have done these swaps will probably have had the shafts apart and might know.

Looking to swap out my open diff for an HLSD but my UK YD22 open diff is 39 splines whereas the HLSD is 29 splines so will need the inner CVs from a B15 SpecV and need to check they will hook up to my outer CVs ok.

Thanks!

There was another thread that me and Ashton made regarding the axles. It should have all the spline counts in there. You would stand the best chance at getting some Spec V axles from the US shipped over to you. The outer joints should have similar spline counts if it is using the larger hubs.

The outers should have 25 splines on the shaft.

Thanks, will have a look for it. B15 SpecV outer is 27 iirc? Mine are 27 too and use the same thickness of shaft as the B15 2.5 so the whole shaft should fit nicely, I just know that the shipping costs will be harsh for the pair of complete shafts.
