which speed sensor is being used because i just ran the tranny info through a gear calculator with a series of wheels and your figures are matching the stock se-r 195-55-15 stock wheels,

Changing from the stock SEL wheels, to the 57c wheels, the offset has changed a bit. Now I notice that there has been a substantial increase in torque steer. Its not unmanageable by any means, but I am curious to the change.

Now you feel the LSD kick in, and it is more abrupt under cornering. You definitely have to hang on to the wheel. Now when going straight, there is no real torque steer that I notice. But when cornering under boost you feel the steering wheel and the lsd working. When making corrections with steering inputs while under throttle, that is when you notice that things are working against you. It is quite fun, but the old setup was more manageable. On the track with big boost, this could tire me out wrestling the car around each corner. I'm only on 10psi right now

So I am curious what is really causing the increase in torque steer. Is it the LSD? Or the difference in wheels? The wheels went further positive on offset I think. The stock SER wheels are a +40, and the Spec V wheels I have now are a +47. This should decrease torque steer if anything.

Any thoughts?

less track will give less grip through the corners. In saying that you are not talking a huge offset difference. Maybe have a play with some spacers, see if it feels the same as it did? Running the same tires?

The tires sit nearly flush with the fenders. Spacing them out any farther would mean they would rub the fenders. If anything the track seems wider than before. The rear of the B14 shows that with stock tires there is too much gap in the wheel well. Almost like the tires sit too far towards the center of the car, and they need a wider track. But with the new setup, they are perfect.

I got an alignment today. Inward toe measured around .15* inward each side, and .30* total inward toe.

The toe out in the front was way out, and perhaps this has caused the car to feel twitchy. It feels a lot better with the alignment, but I will have to get more seat time to see if the torque steer situation has gotten better. First impression says that it has. So hopefully the car is more manageable when nailing on it.

I am using the stock Spec V sensor with 225-45r17 tires in rear and 235-40r17 in back. The speedo is calibrated and reads true to GPS. It maybe off by 1mph or 2 max.

The gear ratios seem about the same as the P11 box I had. Except 3rd is shorter. 3rd in the P11 box would get me to 117-118mph, and 4th would be around 140mph. I am using a 2005 spec V trans from the VIN plate on it. But perhaps the ratios are not what they are claimed.

Did any one ever figure out about the Crank sensor?

the boss is on the 20V bell housing, just drill 2 holes and tap one for the bolt to hold the sensor in place

thats what I did. Pretty straight forward. Just don't use a crappy tap set like I did, they are good once. So if you only need it one time, then it will work just fine.

I took the car for a mountain run today. Decided to see how it does in the corners. Granted the front tires aren't the best, and I don't have a front roll bar. The car did phenomenally well. It really surprised me with how well this thing was able to pull through corners.

The torque steer didn't seem to be much of an issue either. As you go through the corner, you can feed throttle, and the turbo responds immediately with inputs. As long as you stay above 4000rpm where the VVL kicks, the engine has a very broad powerband. Climbing up this mountain pass I thought for certain the radiator would get cooked and the car would overheat. But it survived just fine on 10psi. The car handles very well for a bumpy mountain pass. I would like to get it on the track soon and see how it does, but my nerve was the limit on this run. The car could have gone faster and faster, but I didn't want to push it as it is the hardest I'd ever pushed a car through a pass like that. I don't really wanna die, so I had to back off. On the way down, speeds would exceed 100mph on steep grades and that is just scary.

The car made it back from the beating in one piece. The brake rotors have a bluish hue to them, so I know they got glowing hot.

But now I want to upgrade the radiator to a Mishimoto or a Koyo. The problem is, my radiator sits too close to the turbo and manifold. What have you guys done to fit the larger radiators on a B14? I may make a custom radiator or something. Move it forward a couple inches to clear and it should work great. Any solutions or pics?

What about a turbo blanket?
