Its not the gears that will break. Its the syncros that go out if you cant drive. my buddy ruined his syncros which in turn bent his 1-2 shift fork. Thats because he was an idiot and thinks speed shifting was something you do on every shift. Literally im not joking. Everyone called him a moron for breaking his trans. Its not the gears that are gonna go like i said before. Use a good thick gear oil and take it easy and dont powershift the crap out of it and it will hold up. You never hear of the gearboxes failing on those. Sorry im gonna have to call bs.

Its funny that the guy i knew was all proud that he broke an indestructable gearbox but in reality he just cant drive for shit.

Again time will tell that this gearbox will hold up to way more power and for a hell of a lot longer. Again just looking at it you can see the differences in gears size, thickness, quality, and same goes for the case. Sooo much more beefy.

I just love it that Coheed and Ashton are taking the plunge on this killer upgrade that Andreas discovered a few years back.

For anyone unaware of the origin of this swap:

One (1) more very serious option for our transmission choices.

I don't think I'll personally ever have enough (*turbo*) power to fuxor my B15 transmission (loaded with Greg V Stage 3 clutch kit, Andreas Miko Tranny Saver bracket, Prothanes, Redline MT-90, and operated with smooth shifts) but it is nice to know this swap is not only possible, but highly engineered and documented.

A long time ago it was a B13/B14 or...cha-ching...Par Dog Box. With no choices in between, and who the hell really wants a straight-cut, rough shifting Par box on a street vehicle?

Here are some pics, Every bolt hole is used. If you wanted to you could extend the bracket to use the third bolt that is the foward most bolt that bolts the driver side transmission mount bracket to the frame. As of right now it uses the rear most bolt and the hole for the center bolt going through the mount. Then 4 other 10mm bolts. Its solid as hell. i can lift the entire car off of that mount. Plus thats not the main support for the motor and trans. Your rear bracket/mount is gonna take most of the grunt from the torque.

don't get me wrong. I will do the six speed swap if it will hold up. I just saying that i have been present when several turbo spec v's killed the gear stack @ 350whp or less. None of these were the 04+ so I hope it will hold up.

That looks very good ashton. Very nice. I have found that the P11 gears are about the same exact size as the Older SR trans gears. The case may prevent flexing, but it still can break under hard use with over 400whp.

There is no such thing as a bullet proof transmission. Not sure who we are fooling here. It may last a while longer, but at 400+ft/lbs the weakest link will be exposed.

That being said I am staring at my 6-speed swap currently waiting for the clutch/flywheel to be made.

Shawn the Par dog boxes break too @ 450-500hp. A guy I know had to send his back after it broke for a new one. He is a little more careful with it now.

While this may be true, the signs are there both physically and from an engineering standpoint. Again the gears are physically bigger, the case physically stronger, it should hold a ton more power and for longer than our weak b13 trannies. Again not saying you cant break them and that they wont but i bet you it will take some serious abuse and power to do so.
