Thread: 2step / rev limiter

In the FWD SR I don't think a 2-step is really worth it. Too easy to break transmissions as it is. My friend in his p10 has snapped 2 input shafts, and several axles. and a p11 trans casing. Not sure if all these are related, but all of them happened on a launch building 14psi on a VE-T.

and you will have to run some really great radials or it will do more harm than good, since you will break traction right away...

it helps having a little less weight on the car to help not stressing the gearbox

This is an extreme understatement. 4dr B14 and P10 are heavy, and break shit.

All the east coast guys with VET going for 550-600whp not breaking transmissions yet with the B13/NX/200sx. Go figure.

Make sure you preload the drivetrain and don't just drop the clutch...

I've used other limiters before and this its preatty good for the price/install time taken, got to play with it last night and I'm happy car doesn't fall on its face and the tiny nittos just spin and bounce off the limiter

And you can also blow a turbo if you use big injectors as they only cut the spark and not the fuel.. I lived throught this and a big explosion cut my turbo in 2 inside and the oil pressure drop and also the oil loss lead to a rod bearing knocking condition in no time...

It's a pain in the ass to try to run this cars without it but it's safer in all ways...

Thanks for the advise guys I have read a few bad things about them, I also have a friend who's been running one for over a year and a half with no issues..... I've personally think they will do harm if used as a toy more than to serve its purpose like helping a turbo spool up I've been used to t2 series turbos but not t3's so I needed a litle help with the spool up.

Wow that sucks man what turbo were you running and what was your a/f?
