Cosworth headgasket is a very nice affordable gasket. Very well designed and ive yet to have any problems at all with mine. 34psi of boost. It withstood some detonation during the tuning process and never broke or gave out. They are 157.00 from FRsport.com. 1.1mm 87mm bore is the one i usually get. Great gasket for any type of build. Big, small, whatever.

I have never had the head off my motor, I see no reason to even go messing around with it unless you are building a serious motor. People have made well over 400whp on DEs without changing the HG

How could I tell if I have detonation? The car has been tuned so why should there be any?

The VE metal hg is a very good option.I've ran at 2.0 bar for sometime with any problems.

VE gasket quality is not an issue...finding one is.
