Head gasket recomendations for turbo'd DE
Any advice on the head gasket choice for my soon to be turbo'd de?
Also, how much pressure can I safely expect to go on the stock pistons with Swain coating's gold coat and skirt coatings?

Most would say a VE head gasket which you can purchase for around $75.00. Thats what I'm currently using. If you do a search you find way more info since this topic has been covered so many times.
As far a boost psi it depends on which turbo you will be using. He are a few pics of my de headgasket vs the VE one. Also its a good idea to make sure your head is flat as possiable before using a metal HG.

So which is that, like a cometic mls, and how thick did you go? Wouldn't I actually just be able to order a cometic (.041 or .051?) for a det and be getting the same type of thing? Which t25 are you running with by the way?

Don't go cometic. Please. They have some fitment issues that make me... a little worried using them. My cometic blew. If you want the MLS, go with the VVL gasket. The VVL gasket has a much cleaner removal later down the road than a lead composite gasket. The lead gaskets do hold up very well though. And they seem to seal better on heads that are machined than the MLS gaskets.

I agree with Coheed on this. I've heard mixed reviews with the cometic.
I'm running a t25 with t28 internals (hybrid)

Yeah OE head gaskets are the way to go unless you have some insane build going on.

yeah I say go VE gasket. All 3 people I know that installed cometic on a DE/DET blew gasket in like a month and at low boost (less than 14psi)...

We have used Cometic gaskets on a lot of our motors and have had no problems. I am using a Cometic gasket on my motor.

The reason ppl had so many issues w cometics was because they had a bad batch of materials. the only reason we have heard more problems w our motors vs like the hondas for example is because we didn't go through the stock pile as quick as the hondas. Atlest this is what I was told by a very reputable guy locally.. I also had issues w cometic back in the day.
