What clutch?
Going to turbo the 93 se-r de, so I know I'll want to clutch up.
Here's the situation though, I need to launch smooth.
I can't drop the clutch, I can't break traction cause I'm going to use this for ice racing, so I can't just go "stage crazy" grippy.
Should I be looking at a det clutch number like for a gti-r or a silvia? If so, which car/trans matches my spline count and or bell housing size/config. I'm seeing different stock numbers for the se-r de clutch compared to the det clutch options, but am hoping it's just a workable diameter thing, not a different spline count.
I'm leaning towards these exedy stage 1 clutches, Nissan Exedy Organic Clutch Kit
they're saying smooth engagement. What say you.

I would go with what I recommend for most of the VE guys, and the clutch that I use.
It's very similar to the Exedy clutch you've linked but is a tad more expensive. It will be worth it in my opinion due to the JWT pressure plate providing stock clutch pedal effort and the B15 disc providing completely stock-like engagement, reliability and life.

Clutch Kit Bundle, 2.0, Stage 3 : JWT Pressure plate with 2k SE disc, t/o bearing and clips,

Unless you're making more than 250 WTQ I would highly recommend it.

I do believe the spline count is the same, and the diameters are the same for all FWD SR20DE(T) engines.

You could possibly go with an even less powerful setup if you aren't going to be driving on asphalt much at all. This kit could work for you as well if you want to save some money and keep OEM-like quality.
Clutch Kit Bundle, 2.0, Stage 2 : Key Value Pressure plate with 2k SE disc, t/o bearing and clips,

The Exedy kit you've picked out is probably going to work okay as well. It is comparable to Greg's stage 2 kit FYI.

you might be able to check into the fx300 carbon kevlar clutch from clutchmasters, i ran one on my b16 motor for a while gear clutch, not sure if they have them for the nissans but they probably do.

JWT clutches are just Rebadged Clutch Masters. Just get a sprung CM clutch that is rated for your power goals.

I run an unsprung FX500 in my DD turbo B14 and have no issues with it.

Id go sprung in your setup... I got an unsprung disc and you break traction way too easy on it...

Thanks guys...appreciate the input...losing traction for me on launches is as bad as a stall for you! We used to do rolling starts, but the carnage in turn one was getting out of control. The standing starts we use now separate the hacks from the drivers.

Took your advice and went with the stage 3 bundle W/JWT pressure plate.
Got the price reduced somewhat by getting the seals deleted, I'd already picked up fresh seals back when I pulled the motor. Thanks for the direction

I am with Ben on this one. I would do the set up he mentioned, tried and true great clutch set up.
