Upgrading My Turbo Set Up
Hi

I Have A T25 Turbo With 370cc Injectors And A Bluebird Ecu W/t A Top Mount. Im Going To Upgrade The Manifold And Get A T28 Turbo W/ A 3'' Downpipe. Also Get 555cc Injectors And A Fuel Pressure Regulator And Z32maf. The Rest Of The Motor Is Stock. Im Wondering How Much Boost Could I Run Safely With Out Blowing Up The Motor. Any Input Would Be Great Thanks.

search...I remember reading something just like this yesterday
Here the info was in the thread below yours. He is running a t-28 and the efficiency of that turbo is about 16psi. With the proper tune the motor will not explode it can handle about 400whp.

People who are pusing the limits of the stock SR20 DE/DETs motor with good tune say that 450whp are achievable, problem becomes the head studs, which handle to 400whp or so...

Not always the case. 520whp @ 29psi on stock head studs and gasket.

Nice!
That gives me more confidence on boosting my stock avenir to 20-22psi

I was giving him a conservative number. I was planning on making about 450+ with water/meth injection to keep from detonating on the stock pistons and rods. However on a t-25 at 18psi I blew the stock headgasket most likely from a bit of detonation so you don't want him pushing that t-28 too hard especially if he doesn't know exactly what hes doing.

nice! what turbo?

Im planning on getting to 400whp with water/meth and some octane booster for the 93pump gas... but not on a T28...

to the OP, Id recommend you to tune for some 14psi, thats in the safe side and should give you nice numbers to have fun with...

What you tunning with? I see you dont mention anything to tune with, and you defenitely dont want to run "high" boost on just a stock ecu and some injectors

keep it safe. the efficiancy on the t28 is like 16 lbs i think. so boost anywhere from 10 to 14 lbs that way you stay on the safe side an be able to boost above stock.
