Rob, what pistons were you using? I have true 8.5:1 compression in my VE-T, I am pretty sure compression numbers with my gauge will be about 135-145. A DET on this guage also gets around 145. My stock VE did 180 or so. I know my guage reads a bit lower than most, generally by 15-20psi.

your compression was higher due to a ve head on a det motor. Yours would have been around 9:8:1 which is why your numbers are so close to a stock de.
