Are these things any good ?

Rumor has it that Garrett produces them.

Can someone shed some light on this mystery turbo ?

As far as i know they are made by garrett some even say garrett air research on the compressor housings. They should be just as good as a garrett, being they are made by the same co.

They are made by garret ,

most are older style Turbos , T3s to be exact and Non ballbearing.

Good turbos but will give you some lag, also the are air and oil cooled.

I have one rebuilt by garret, with complete downpipe for the sr20 FWD. No manifold tho.

Yeah the one I was trying to buy was a brand new T3/T04E I have yet to find out if it's BB or journal bearing.

AiResearch is the old Garrett brand of turbos. They were used on the import drag scene back in the day when 10's was like wow, full blown race car.

Good turbos, but old. As long as they are rebuilt they are good.

This guy told me brand new, never seen exhaust gas !!! Could they still be selling these new ?

airesearch is garrett's old name. those turbo's are new old surplus. probably brand new...but been sitting on a shelf for almost twenty years.
