Thread: How to get to 4-450whp

im personally running a tial 38mm external wastegate

always been a fan of a externally gated t2 turbos since my I ran my gt28rs with the external gate. more power at lower boost levels.

i want to get to this power level using a gti-r motor with bc stage II cams, retainers and springs , tubular manifold and a t3/t4 turbo, 3" dp and side exit exhaust, nismo fpr, have stock and jgy fuel rail(dont know which one to use), a jwt ecu(already had so gonna use it), a fmic, and a n60 blow threw MAF... what injectors should i use?

and at what psi would i have to boost to?

Pics ? Do u guys think internally gated creates alot of heat or does it have nothing to do with engine temps for the most part ?

here is a dyno graph just to give you a slight idea of the response of the 2871r although some might already know from personal expierence. this power was made on 7lbs untuned and only taken up 6200rpm back in 07. pretty decent. ive since made much better numbers at higher psi. but this gives you a slight idea. this is also mustang dyno numbers.

internals create more heat

Not so sure about that. External gates allow for greater uniform exhaust flow. This is why people that retain internal wastegates use a divorced downpipe, which allows for greater exhaust flow, and less chance for creep and/or spike.

^ this is true, but there are limitations with internally gated wastegates. whereas with externally gated wastegates they ultimately allow maximum flow and along with wastegate placement on the manifold expell greater volumes of exhaust.

you see alot of people porting their divorced downpipe to try and increase that volume of exhaust flow from the internally gated wastegate as a last resort before needing to go to a external wastegate. just my opinion
