RC Fuel Injection

based on a BSFC of 0.5 which they say if for NA engines. maxing at 80% duty cycle & 4 injectors.
To get 455 hp- you need 746.5cc /min

on a 9.5 to 1 DE the motor will make about 15 WHP more than the 8.5 to 1 DET

Just curious, what would you say is safe psi for a 2871R on 93 octane? I currently run 16psi, which seems to be in the middle of the efficiency island on the compressor maps and my A/F ratio is solid @ 11.0

18-20psi on a 8:5:1 motor with 93 oct.

i would say 26lbs max for the 2871r if your motor is pretty stout. it might not be out of its efficency range, but i wouldnt push the motor farther than that depending on your internal setup

wow that's a lot of boost. You'd DD it on 20psi w/93 octane? Maybe I'll set this to my 'high boost' setting for special occasions

that isnt that much boost really, the 2871r isnt in its efficency range until 14lbs or so, so 18-20lbs isnt that bad, when i got my car tuned i asked the shop what was a good max psi for the 2871r and they said 26psi max on it before it would be out of its range, now 26lbs is alot of power but in all reality 20-24lbs is a real solid area for the 2871r to make power anything under 1 bar isnt going to make the turbo 100% efficent, now im not saying its not going to make good power under 1 bar, but its going to be more efficent in the 1bar to 24lb area.

on my old setup (gt28rs de-t) I would run 18psi on pump gas. My new setup is much more complex and has water/meth injection. 25psi is my high boost setting. with a gt3071r

on pump gas?

yeah on pump gas i personally run my 2871r at 22lbs high boost on 93 octane. i have seen alot of cars dynoed and tuned and you wouldnt believe the kinda power that is made on pump gas. nowdays the meth or water meth combo is more freq, and so alot more people are running the water meth or straight meth just to be safe. nowdays running water meth is just a better alternative than running race gas, race gas is expensive and not worth the price vs performance gain.

now if you wanted to run ethanol the positives are definitly there cheaper than both meth and race gas. but it also depends on your area and how avail the ethanol is though.
