i feel its really all about machine work, getting the assembly balanced and rotated, have any rod checked out my the machine shop... your motor is only as good as the machining.

eagle rods are pretty much the best for the price. like you said there are better but none ar a price that makes them expendable.

I will be running eagles for sure, you have nothing to worry about with a 2871r. My friend tims 99 eclipse gsx is making 900+ hp at the engine with these rods and has been for 2 yrs. We are kind of wondering when they are gonna give way. This is on a stoker engine with a bb gt42 frame turbo.

I just got a ride in a civic today which does over 600whp on ethanol. He was only running low boost, but he runs off the shelf eagles. I was impressed to hear that people are doing 900whp with these rods. Guess I am going eagle this time.

i think you will be more than able to meet your goal with the eagles. what the max whp you think you are looking to make around 600? bhp? whp?

I really only need to hit about 500whp, but if I take it to the strip I may want a little spray as well. 500whp is plenty fast for me though, but you know how things like this go. Maybe I will upgrade to a gt35r and want 600 or something.

I like carrillo rods myself but egales are good too aslong as they are balanced right. I have heard of some eagels all being perfectly balanced from the factory and others not so close.

well i would ALWAYS balance the rotating assembly reguardless if you were using carrillo or eagle, its a must do in machining

Agreed, its cheap insurance really. Just like always having injectors cleaned and balanced.

I bought my nismos used without cleaning and balancing. They had like 50 miles on them. So far they seem fine. I will be trying the eagles out next.

agreed, rotating assembly should always be balanced on a forged internal rebuild. Balancing full assembly to include flywheel when possible
