mike4387, good to know! what kind of power are you currently making? when does the turbo starts spooling and when do you get full boost?

Okay so I'm leaning more to the 6262SP. Do you guys think the 6262SP .63 A/R would give me a decent spool time and do still good up top? Right now, I have a gti-r motor with a turbonectics .82 A/R and lag is killing me down low. I'm looking to improve this somewhat and still have a good power range.

im running a completely stock gtir motor start to spool around 3800 hit 17 psi by 5000 rpms, i would say power is around 370 whp, car is untuned so running a tad rich car pulls like no other. You wont be dissapointed either way you go. Precision said the difference in power in spool is around 10 hp at most when using the same exhaust A/R on each cover and spool is mabe at most 150 rpms diff between the two.

Thanks again. I'm also running a stock gtir with a t3/t4 .82 A/R, but I dont get full boost till almost 5600 I believe. I just want a quicker spool without sacrificing too much mid-range and top end. I know these turbos are beast because dropkit on the forum took me for a spin (had me sucked back in the seat) lol.

Its funny u mention dropkit, I asked him a pretty good bit of stuff about his setup trying to help me decide on mine. He gave me a lot of good info and yea his car is a beast. If you go down to the .63 on the 6262 u will see full boost by 5000, with cams it would be even sooner. Either way the turbo is a beast and will not let you down.

Yeah dropkit mentioned your setup to me. Are you using a log manifold as well? I'm thinking of getting the eql length manifold to accommodate the 6262 .63, and eventually JWT cams. It really seems that this turbo is sick though, everyone out there is using them. But I seen alot of people using the .82, but I think that's mainly to make more power up top. I would be happy reaching 500hp one day. I think at this point the .63 seems like the way to go to make my power goals and to have a decent spool time. Once I get the turbo, all I have to do is get my nistune tuned good and crank the boost up! Thanks for the advice, I can't wait to see what it can do.

Im running a log mani for now until I can get up enough money to buy an equal length, dropkit had a sweet equal length for sale I think he still has it. I figured I would be happy with 400whp on low boost, im going to try to get the longest I can out of my p11 tranny and I think 500whp is pretty much gonna destroy it quickly. In the mean time Im working on an s13 swap into a 240, iv decided to go RWD to make more power.

Ahh I see. Yeah I'm running the protech log mani at the moment too but I am in the process of buying dropkit's eql. length mani Yeah 400hp is still a good amount of power for a daily car. I think your probably right about your tranny handling 500hp, might experience issues eventually. I need to upgrade my p11 tranny next. I'm still running the open diff gearbox on my primera. I'm thinking of getting either the G20t gearbox or the B15. I have to jus keep my eyes open for the best deal.RWD should be really fun, I'm jealous haha. That's a turbo s13 motor?

yeah I found a guy local with a completely built head and an entire front clip of a s13 so I have everything I need to just drop it in another 240 and go, the body its in now is garbage and just wont do so Im looking for a shell as well. The guy also upgraded the turbo so its a good deal. I would go with the g20, the 5th gear is longer in the g20.

oh wow, thats sound good man.Well that is a pretty good deal, just keep your eyes open for a shell or maybe a cheap 240. Gonna do some drifting after lol? I didn't know that about the g20 tranny, guess I will go with that one then.
