T25 went bye-bye...
I just got gas after getting my exhaust components from Flowmaster, and was getting on the freeway. I got stuck behind a dump truck towing a pup trailer who was doing a whopping 25 getting on the freeway. I dropped gear to pass him and get to speed on the freeway, grabbed third, get to about 6000 RPMs and then no boost, no power.

I shift to fourth (no more 5th gear...) and try to cruise to the next exit where I can see if maybe I just blew a coupler off and then notice smoke behind me. As I get off the freeway it gets worse and worse. I stop and notice a coupler popped off. I fix that and go on my way, but still smoking like a damn freight train. At this point, I'm sure the turbo blew a seal of something.

I get to the next exit, get some oil, put it in and it's still smoking. I decide it's best to call my step mom for a tow. I get her home, start to pull off the charge piping and sure as sh!t the piping is filled with oil. Look down into the turbo outlet and there is a small pool of oil in the compressor housing.

Now I get to look for a rebuild kit or maybe another turbo...

Did I mention that I just replaced my head gasket, too? When it rains it poors, lol...

Tear it apart before buying the rebuild kit.
It might not be salvageable.

If you pop a coupler and continue to drive it hard the turbo overrev's since it does not have pressure to push against. That's probably what did yours in.

Perfect time for a t28. Even if it sets you back a little, it will be worth it. I miss my stock gti-r setup. Thing was such a fun/fast street car.

I'm going to pull it off here in a little bit. I'll tear it apart and look at it. Even if it is repairable, I'll probably still get another turbo. I want to upgrade, but at the moment I have to be cost effective. I just got laid off, so I may have to wait till I get my next job in the next week or two.

Keo, I thought I told you my name was Lance...

I found a gt28rs with gti-r manifold and j-pipe, but I don't have the funds for it right now. I don't have anything that I can currently sell either, so... Unless Eder wants to loan me like $500 for it.

definitely check out to see if the turbo is even salvageable. i made that mistake with my t25.

and i think it says, or did say, that your name is lance on your live profile too. i definitely gotta get on again soon for some COD!

good time to get an external wastegate too!

I'll tear it apart to see if it's even salvageable before I try to rebuild it.

It still does say my name on my XBOX Live profile. You need to get your ass on for some COD!

Money, money, money... I'd like to run an external wastegate and gate it to atmosphere, but that's money, money, money. New mani, plus the wg, plus modifying my downpipe, and then some. I'd love to do it though.
