Thread: difficulties to start my car

Hey, i just bought a new car...for very cheap lol
When I initially was checking it out, it would just turn over for nearly a min before it started, then after i got it home i couldn't even get it started. Checked some stuff and it looked like a blown head gasket too. So I just got that changed and now it starts significantly easier. Although it still turns over alot before it actually catches and starts.
However, once it gets started it runs normally and boosts just fine.
I was thinking a fuel problem. I've checked the fuel pressure regulator and it was ok. Could it be the cold start injector, or fuel filter or what?

is it off timing?

not sure, didn't check yet. Previous owner did say that the whole hard to start thing only started 3 days before I bought it..

HA! Sounds like a line of BS if you ask me.

Could be a combination of things... Fuel filter clogged, fuel pressure regulator broken, fuel tank system not sealed, fuel pump bad, incorrect ignition/mechanical timing, bad MAF, bad plugs, bad starter, bad grounds, etc. etc. etc.

The list really could go on forever.
