Difference in t25 and t28
Found a t28 on a forum I frequent for a good price. At least it says t28. I'm no expert, and neither is the seller. It's a pretty tight knit forum, so if there IS a mistake, I know he isn't intentionally mis labeling it.
But what are the differences to be looking for when telling a 28 from a 25?

here is the turbo in question, is it indeed a 28?

Also, it will go on, with minimal effort, right? Should be a direct replacement, no? Sorry for the n00b type questions, but this is my first sr.

It may be a skyline t28 (which sucks) or something, but it's not a gtir t28. It looks really small. I don't see a wategate actuator either.

Why does it suck? That it journal bearing, or is one of the ceramic pieces of junk?
The WG actuator from the t25 I'm running can used, or modified, can't it?
Will try to get PN's asap.

If it is a skyline turbo (I don't know, I was just throwing that out there), it does indeed have the crappy ceramic fins. It would also be a T3 flange, which means it wouldn't work with any fwd manifolds. You would have to use a custom manifold, custom o2 pipe, and rig up an actuator just to use it.

If its not a skyline turbo it may be off a z31 300zx turbo, which in that case is a t3 from what i remember.

Not 100% sure what that is. It looks like a T25, but T25 compressor housings don't bare the same markings. I suspect it's an older Z car turbo, with an aftermarket turbine housing. Nissan to my knowledge never produced a car equipped with a turbocharger that used an external gate, and 4 bolt "Ford" discharge flange.

I wouldn't purchase it without some sort of history.

EDIT: To answer your question, no way it's a T28. And it's not a T3 flange either.

Here is a W11 T25 vs GTiR T28. The T28 is a good bit bigger.

just looking at the picture i can tell its a t3 flange on the turbine housing. So like they said might be a skyline or a z31 turbo.
