What turbo was made for this dual scroll manifold?
Ok, Just got my hands on this 93 SE-R, for the purpose of ice racing it for the 2011 season.

Just picked up this manifold as well, and I see that it's obviously designed to work with a dual scroll designed turbo.

I've got a brand new dual scroll Borg Warner K04 unit (think LNF engine like in the solstice GXP or Sky redline)
But I'll be selling it to pick something up for this manifold.
I was originally thinking GT25R for some low end grunt, but now I'm curious as to what was originally on this mani? Anybody know the answer to this and do you have any pics of whatever that dual scroll turbo was?

That's not designed to work with a twin scroll turbo. It is just a regular RWD(?), OEM Nissan manifold meant for use with a T25 or T28 turbo. Nothing special. They are just well designed from the factory. They don't, however, make use of pulse tuning completely as you can see from your last picture the runners are not completely separated.

I would confirm with what Ben said as it's for RWD

Will I be able to get set up like this? Except I'd like my compressor outlet facing north.
Also, am I seeing a drilled and tapped "oil return barb" in the block?

yes you could re clock the turbo to face up, and you are correct the oil drain is in the block. the stock de motor has a flat spot where the det has the drain port. Very easily drop the upper and lower oil pans drill/tap and there is your drain. any other questions just ask i just recently turbo'ed my 4th nissan

Thanks for that, I've seen that flat spot on the block and was thinking a npt type thread to accomodate a standard brass plumbing hose barb. The other thing I've been noticing is that "some" of the t25's or gt25's seem to have a "difficult" wastegate actuator mounting. Where as the 28's seem to be a little less "one design-ish" Instead of being mounted to the backing plate of the compressor housing, I see some of them are mounted to the compressor housing itself. Here I was, looking forward to finally getting a nice six bolt backing plate, really opening up my clocking options. I've had dealing's with a K03 with a 4 bolt backing plate, but even that was not as limiting as some of these
25's I've been looking at. I'm not planning on changing my internals because I don't need "mad boost" for my application (reads's: not enough traction) so I think a 28 would be excessive for me. I know I'll need to move up on the injectors, what do you recommend for like a gt25 application, will a 370cc do it for me? Or do you recommend another turbo config entirely. Also, I'm out here in rural America, so I really have no access to a "tuner" or dyno facilities. I see some of the guy's are running with what, a Calum or a JWT ecm set-up?

I actually think the smaller turbos will boost too soon for your application. Maybe want to look into a larger frame turbo with log manifold to keep the cost down, maybe a simple oil cooled t3 you could get for cheap from a junkyard that way boost onset won't be as quick. I think you will tear up the tires on ice making as much power as early as the t25s do. Just my opinion.

If you want the turbo clocked North then I'd save yourself a lot of time and effort of mixing and matching parts by just buying a GTi-R exhaust manifold and slapping the GTi-R T28 turbo on there. Modify the wastegate actuator or get a new one to allow for low boost and you'll be all set.

You should check out my build thread (in my signature) for turbo oil drain info as it has many pictures, links, etc.
There's also lots of info and pics on fitting a GTi-R manifold and turbo. (Search the table of contents to find what you need.)

It's not the only way to go, but I think you'll have the least headaches. If you're quite handy with clocking turbos and finding internal wastegate actuators to work with your clocking then ignore my advice and do whatever you want.

Anything you guys can tell me will save me time, money, and possibly unecessary destruction lol. No really, I appreciate any/all the info.

you can use the avenir or GTi-R manifold, just make the turbo face upwards and your done, you can get the GTi-R intercooler and piping kit from ebay and its nearly a plug and play, minimal changes need to be done...
Now since you said you dont have access to a tuner or dyno, and you dont plan on going too big Id say you can use your stock SE-R ECU, DET 370 injectors and an AFC, which is very easy to tune...
