Thread: Wideband Routing/Splicing..?

Bah, I suck when it comes to electrical stuff.

OK, where on the back of the fuse box do I need to splice? Also, what kind of relay do I need and where can I buy that? Auto parts store? I can also get the fuse holder at an auto store as well?

I would use the main power signal coming into the fuse box and a 40amp relay. here are directions on how to wire a relay. you could also just use the ignition signal as suggested.

I just used what I believe Innovate suggested. Not sure if I remember that right but they suggest a good strong 12v. The Ignition wires won't be overloaded by the o2 those suckers are pretty fat. Upping the fuse is just a band aid. It's not how many amps a fuse can handle it's what the wire can handle. Fuses just protect the wire from getting to hot and melting your car down. cortim has a great idea by making your own source. Just make sure your signal wire come from something that turns on when the ignition does don't make your own power switch

i ran 3 gauges/ebc/wideband off the cig lighter... do what you want but i used a little distribution block and it worked mint(it was fused just in case)

Being that I still have no clue what cortrim is talking about, I think the only option for me IS to do ignition switch. I feel if I blow the fuse there, I won't be able to start the car, but as long as I have a spare fuse w/me I should be fine eh?

Should be fine. I mean even the lighter would be an OK place but you might get Noise if you put every thing on one location which could make your 02 reading not as accurate. Not horrible though

Do you recommend putting a fuse between the new splice on the ignition switch and the wideband?

sure it won't hurt anything thats for sure.

Off topic: my sister got transfered to Kansas City MO. She's a manager at the Aquarium Resteraunt. It got flooded here in Nashville and they are rebuilding it. So the owner's "Landry's" sent her to the Kansas City T-Rex. She's put up at a hotel that has a view of Walmart lol thasts about all i know
