Wideband Routing/Splicing..?
Hey,

I've had wideband wire coiled in my engine bay for quite a while now, but have been putting it off because I can't really decide on the best/easiest way to route and splice this.

It's currently in the engine bay, so if I kept it like that I'd have to go underneath the car and all the way back to the bung which is near the middle of the car. I can't really figure out what else to zip tie the wires to other than the fuel lines. I know those fuel lines get pretty hot. I'm not sure if they get hot enough to melt the wire if I zip tie it there. I'm also a little worried about the wire getting snagged on something underneath the car and then ripping up a fuel line along with it. Anyone got better ideas on routing the wires or would they be fine zip tied to fuel lines?

Also, I'm not sure where to splice this. I'm already using the cigarette lighter for my EBC. Any ideas on an easy place to splice? I think it requires a 15amp or better source.

As always, thanks for the help! Wideband is the next thing I want to get complete and then on to A/C

if the wires can handle being in the engine bay right by the turbo i think you will be okay with your idea. Just run it off of the cig lighter too it will be fine.

Hmmm...any other place besides the cig lighter? I don't want to overload that circuit.

I pulled 12 volts from the ignition/steering column. Nice strong 12v signal

you wont overload it the more splices you make somewhere else the more possibilities you have of something going wrong and chasing wires suck

EBC + Wideband + GPS won't overload?

Also, there's not much wire there. I think if I used the cig lighter, I'd have to splice off one of the extension wires I made for the EBC. So it'd be daisy-chained and go cig lighter->2-in1-splice->EBC->2-in-1-splice->Wideband. Is that OK?

Almost everything pulls 12volts. How many amps does it do? Must be at least 10amps. Also, if this blows I won't be able to start my car..I'd rather choose something else.

Also, how hard is it to route wire under carpet and where the rear O2 sensor hole is?

get power from the battery or the back of the fuse box and use a relay to make a switched signal. make sue to put a fuse in between the relay and 12 volt source.
