Bad news guys... On my way to the standing mile event suddenly the gearbox broke, and i managed to get home with only 4th gear working.
Very pissed now !! Thats the problem
Of using used parts.
I switched to a spare car and drove to the event. Allot of cool cars, the winner was a gt47 supra( 217mph), a loaded z06 second and a switzer 911 turbo third.
I hate technical breakdowns, that differs the good tuner cars from the bad ones.
Does anybody know a good source for a new rb25 tranny?
I know that z32 are cheap to source in US, but how about rb25?

RB25 gear boxes are like gold out here. Just get a Z32 box and swap the bell housing. A few of the RB26 guys have done it for the RWD swaps.

Thanks blueRB, good input, but i cannot use z32 tranny because the shifter is not centered over the tranny body, its more on one side, so i need an rb tranny, maybe new if its not too expensive. I try to source it in UK.

Now i have the info that a brand new rb25 tranny is around 2000 usd in japan. Of course plus shipping, tax and import tax....

I prefer the rb25 tranny over the z32 in my silvia. I experienced also the z32 tranny with the conversion kit and i did not like it much. The shifting ergonomy is just better with the rb25 cause the stick is centered on the top of the tranny body.
