Ahh, alright. Wasn't sure. Usually when a CEL flashes it's a "last warning" type of thing. But shows how much I know about software

>>Yo thats Cool , lets see a Vid of a stand still then pull off runs running out the gears, in and probably out the car, better yet if you had a GTECH Pro to get your 1/4mile average !!>>

my "driftbox", the device which shows the speed in my video can measure the quartermile time as well. Much more accurate than the g-tech. I will do it the next weeks ans post it here. My guess is 13,2@113mph with normal tires. We will see.

Cool and if you can get a friend to video tape a 1/4 run outside that will be cool also, need to observe how these RWD VE-T's are working seeing that hardly any complete projects tape footage of them.

Are you running a side mounted intercooler on 18psi? That could be your overheating issue right there, those things have mad heatsoak.

no, i use a greddy Front mount intercooler. The effect is that the watercooler now gets less and hotter air than with a side mount IC. But the advantage of a FMIC is the better Air cooling before getting into the motor.

ok, looked like a side mount in the earlier pic. How much room do you have in there? Possible to sit the front mount or radiator a little lower than the other? You're heat soaking with that much air in her face...that's amazing...

You may just want to invest in a little bigger turbo to keep the temp down at 18psi.

hey dino, very nice build you have there!!almost the same as me,but im builing a full mazworx setup.i imagine that the reason for your torque losses on your ve setup compared to the det is that you are using such a small turbo on your setup.now its hard to speculate the exact sorce, but, due to the nature of the cams(setup for n/a)there is overlap of the cams and that will create a pumping loss that the littler turbos cant keep up with.hope im making sense.the rule on the stuff ive been studying is that you dont want to use anythig less than a 30r(gt3076r)and even that is pushing it,but this is all for using factory ve or n1 cams.if you dont want to use a bigger turbo, maybe you should try to use some ve-t cams to gain back your torque.sorry to ramble on,ive been building my motor and widebody s14 for like 2 years and threads like this excite me
awsome car man!!!!

He has VET cams now. Very little overlap. They make good torque, but you do have to get the exhaust flowing well. I bet an exhaust cutout or something like that would make a pretty big difference in peak torque and spool.

wow, yeah man,i just realized that your using a stock sr mani and a 2871 that has to be t28.that has got to be the reason of low torque.what cams were used during the det setup in comparison to the ve cams?

both stock DET cams and HKS stage 1 (11mm lift 256 duration) made very early spool (400RPM earlier) and over 10% more torque than the VE setup.
