what about engine managements? i would think that some with 72lb injectors get idle issues...what about 1200cc or 1600cc injectors, i would imagine a way to fully control your idle would be ideal for having such large injectors and making sure it idles good no?

Depending on management, take a cue from recent crotch rocket EFI. Use a small injector in the stock location, 50lb/hr or something for idle and light load, then a set of 96lb as a shower head injector or opposite the primary that only activates given "x" that you set for boost, load, afr etc. Even if you are on a calum realtime additional injector controller will work.

yeah i figured that, something with full idle control will work, but if you arent running something that extensive then that is going to be alot of cash just getting the upgrade parts and management that has the ablility to make 1600cc injectors stable at idle. thats just my thoughts....im neither saying its good or bad, just looking at all the variables to run that gas

How in the **** would you use 10 gallons of race fuel in one day? Are we talking drag racing here? I used to put in 2 gallons and have some left over at the end of the day.

Thats why I said saged injection, small primaries for idle and low lad, large secondaries to handle high load. Not that hard to wire in, just need to tune it for a few hours. Easier or harder dependant on method, ie AIC or standalone that is up to the task.

I would agree on running staged injectors for helping with idle issues. We did it on one of our evo's, 1000cc primary, and 1600cc secondary. I am only going to be running 1600cc, but along with that I will be using AEM ems with my IACV....Your management will really be key when staging your set-up....

sounds like it could be a really expensive cross over to that fuel.

what is your setup, that you need race gas?

^ exactly race gas is almost everyones last resort for either power improvements or its a requirement in their build ie: more ignition timing ect

if your build isnt that drastic then i dont really feel the race gas is the way to go.

and i really dont think that the e85 is the way to go either becuase of all the upgrades needed, it would seem like a very expensive alternative to race gas with all the upgrades needed

I am a big fan of just c16 and call it a day. I help run a 632ci race car with 15 to 1 comp and just nasty everything else and it runs fine on even 110 and it makes over 1200 hp and it is just an NA motor. I don't see a need for 122 enless you are really pushing the limit and shooting for over 2000 hp or something crazy like that.

Also with the idle issues, there are many honda guys running around with 1600cc injectors on the streets. I am going to be running 1600ccs on my drag/street car but I am going to be using my IACV like sniper so that I can get the car to idle right.
