Thread: Turbo exhaust leak? Lean issue

Quick ?. Would a bad 3bolt downpipe gasket leak or the 5bolt jpipe turbo flange gasket leak make the car run leak and break up in boost? For some reason my car started running lean and its breaking up now. When i was under the car i noticed 2 of the jpipe bolts had backed out and im sure the gasket blew out. Just curious if this would cause the car to act up. thanks.

hmm I would think it would make it run rich since it's essentially a boost leak. I think it depends on whether you're running blow through or draw through maf setup.

I'm referring to the 5 bolt j-pipe gasket as a boost leak, the downpipe gasket wouldn't really cause anything unless your rear 02 is getting a lower signal, but that would be very minimal.

maf is before the turbo. bov is on TB pipe

it started out of knowhere. idk what it could be. NoTHING on the car has changed. Anything maintence wise i should look at?
