Name a Stock turbo car that comes with a Factory turbo timer i got mines for free.. so don't matter to me.

and i belive audi tt quatros have a foctory system that runs coolant through the turbo after you shut the car off for a couple of minutes





also why do people assume your car is going to run hotter now that it's turbo'd, are we not running intercoolers?

my turbo 240 actually ran cooler than my se-r did

That is what I say. I always felt it was more then I'm turbo now so i NEED a huge ass Radiator and all this crazy stuff..

In extreme conditions w/ AC and all accesories they do run a little hotter. Being under boost for longer periods of time... Pressurized air is usually warmer.

Daily driving my turbo car was always cooler (like never above 150 moving), but it had no AC condensor in the way, holes in the bumper, and an nx radiator. I think in FWD conditions the bay is a little more cramped, and the cooling design for rwd cars is better too.

But Meh, it all depends. But most run larger radiators for that insurance... I am!

When your car is hitting boost more fuel is being burnt more exhaust is created more power is made and more heat is being generated. It is a scientific fact there is no room for debate more burning of fuel means more heat. However if you have a turbo car and you don't ever boost NO you are not likely to have overheating issues...BUT WHY HAVE A TURBO AT ALL!? Increasing the motor's cooling capacity is a good idea, but no one said you "need it". My NX (stock rad) did get over heated in the summer time so I and many others suggest water and water wetter IT WORKS.

The intercooler exists to cool the compressed/pressurized post compressor. When air is pressurized it gets hot. The intercooler cools this air mainly so that more air can go into the motor. It is not an extra radiator

Great Info. This is going to help me in DE-T JB-T25 swap. As i'm putting brand new oem nissan tune-up parts, even starter and alternator.

As I live in the l.a. area socal. It's mostly warm, hot and no snow. In summer sometimes reaches the 100+ degrees. Is 5W-40 or 10W-60 too thick?

Specs:

5W-40:
Density (15C): 0.861
Viscosity Index: 179
Hi. Temp - Hi. Sheer Vis.: 4.0
Flash Point (C): 230
Pour Point (C): < -50.0

10W-60:
Density (15): 0.867
Viscosity Index: 184
Hi. Temp - Hi. Sheer Vis.: 5.9
Flash Point (C): 226
Pour Point (C): -50.0

The 2nd one recommends using oil specified by the engines manufacturers.

If I was you and it is over 100 out I would go with 15W-50 it's tried and true.

i use 10w 40 and after a decent drive by it self it comes out like water when drained! i usually add synthetic lucas which i dont think foams as much as regular lucas under load to help keep the oil together

also its good to periodicly check turbo gaskets i change my plugs every 2 - 3 oil changes as well
