I belive that Joes 200sx had a 9.5 to 1 de and the GT3076r ( GT30r ) that HASS helped build , you can find info on it on the other forum ....

Tekk sorry for the thread jack dude but i had too........ Ive ran a 35mm old school TiAL gate on my big turbo set up and never had any boost creep, so its your choice, i would go 44mm just incase your worried.

Thanks, wasn't sure so I ended up going with the 44mm TiAL wastegate. I don't plan on running insane amounts of boost, and I'm sure the GT3076R is more than capable of 30psi or even more, so I felt that a larger gate would be of better benefit.

Just can't wait to hear how everything sounds when it's done.

Does anyone here have experience with the GT3076R, or equal size, regarding the audibility at idle, of the turbine? Just curious, as my 3" definitely kept the car quiet with that T25. Couldn't hear it until it spooled. I kinda liked the fact that it couldn't be heard at idle, so I'm preparing to either love the sound, or put a resonator on the exhaust to keep it quieter.

You wont hear it at idle, unless you run open downpipe, but you will definetley hear a louder spool, like a truck wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hehe

Good deal, then I like to be un-suspecting. There's quite a few WELL built, decently tuned cars in the region, now, but the problem is that they're driven by kiddies that love street races. Personally, I've been known to drop the hammer in pure fun, but never to race anyone on a public road-way. If someone revs, I'll for sure rev back, but that's just an acknowledgement that I'm not a snobby prick.

I just don't want them to rev at me because they hear something whirring at idle, because that's going to give them the automatic assumption that I'm going to want to race them light to light.

I've got a wife and kids, and a VERY decent job. No need to risk everything over one damn stretch of city street to the next light.

If they ask what that whirl is just tell them you have a bad water pump

That's a good idea!

also keep in mind wg placement on the manifold when your are considering valve size. a manifold built with "wg priority" rather than "turbine priority" is usually able to use a smaller dia valve to control turbine speed. on the other hand, a manifold built with "turbine priority" rather than "wg priority" usually has to run a larger valve to control turbine speed effectively.

wg priority

turbine priority

This is what's going on the car, or something very similar. I'd have to dig up actual pictures of this style manifold bolted onto an SR motor. Anyhow, it's a top mount EL mani from Protech, as previously mentioned. Looks like what you refer to as turbine priority, so choosing the larger gate was a good one, to begin with. (Hope I'm right here LOL!)
