how would a torn turbo outlet to hotside pipe coupler effect car???
story:

drove car last saturday for the 1st time since swap and ran like a dream! afrs where perfect no matter idle, cruise, or boosting. on the way home i was playing with the car and hit it....popped of my pipe that connects to my turbo outlet which was no biggie so i drove the car home as n/a. week of no driving and then next saturday i put the pipe back on and take it out. runs like crap, except under boost where it still runs perfect. idles crazy, idle hunts, idles lean as i dont know what, hard to start and until its warm acts like its miss firing. never had this problem ever so i thought what happened last before the problem and it was the pipe popping off and look at its coupler just to find a complete tear str8 down the entire backside of coupler. i take pipe out and car starts, idles, and sounds find(didnt drive it yet). can that coupler really cause this?? btw im on a blowthrough setup.

That's a massive boost leak, so yes, it could cause your problems.

I would make sure you don't have any leaks after the maf. Still you had a massive boost leak and that will have some effect on the car.

its not entirely split but the tear is nasty! but under boost it hits the psi i have it set to and holds, though car did feel a little weaker...

i dont have any after the maf, cause it seems (havent drove yet) when i took the hotside pipe off it started easy as pie, and idled perfect as n/a.

thats how it should be. I would assume if you drove it like that you may have some problems due to air being drawn through the ic. the ic would be a huge restriction. If you stuck a filter on the maf you could drive around just like normal but the turbo would be pumping air to no where.

i only have these problems once i put my hotside pipe back on, with it off, idles normal, no missing sounds, no hunting or crazy leaness. hotside pipe on then all the above comes back into play, drives normal with pipe on but afrs are little leaner then before, boost still kicks on and holds steady boost/afr under boost. but at a light/idle all the above comes into play. hard to start also with pipe on

I would start by looking for exhaust leaks. Then I would pressure test the whole system through the turbo. Can you data log?

no. im 100% positive its something small. been boosted for some years now with nothing changind on my setup but turbo upgrades and this didnt happen until items came into play. the torn coupler and i know i have a pretty bad exh. leak where my jpipe meets my downpipe but i dont think it s the exh leak cause i have that with pipe on or off and its still like night and day

leaks at the jpipe are bad. You can not get a good reading from your 02 sensor with a leak there.
