DE Oil feed questions
Hey guys, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my engine and it's currently on a stand - about to get hot tanked in the coming weeks. I'm trying to tidy things up a bit with the rebuild. I have a few questions about these two locations for a closer oil feed line for my T28.
I have a DE block, and I know the stock oil feed port is sealed off. I believe I've read it can be tapped, but I risk getting metal shavings in the block. My question is - how good is a hot tank really? Should something like that get any shavings out if I were to drill and tap the stock location (top hole).
Also, I'm curious as to what these two ports circled in red below are. I tried searching and couldn't find much. Both have allen wrench heads on them. I opened one and it looked like it could have been an oil port of some sort, but I thought I'd ask here for sure.
I'm currently rocking a GFD oil feed line, but I'd like something a little more discrete and shorter.
