If you want more out of it there's the simple crush method, or I prefer the extra vacuum port method.
DDG- Talon BOV mod for HIGH BOOST

i followed this exactly and i was at 20psi no prob and it worked great..kinda miss it actually.

Had two of them, one crushed and one uncrushed and both of them were decent. Neither of them compare to my greddy type s though... Both dsm bovs seemed toleak a little (well, they blew off air when they weren't supposed to).

I believe it'll hold much more than that when drilled. It should hold infinite pressure (up to the burst pressure of the metal casing).

The dsm does not even compare to my greddy type-s performance wise. I would go with something else if you can spend the money. However the dsm is a good, reliable and cheap option if you cant afford a more expensive bov.

I don't understand how it could be "outperformed"? All the thing does it let air out when it's told. Besides holding more pressure, not many people run more than 20 psi. I trust factory parts a lot more than aftermarket stuff. For aftermarket stuff to be better you usually have to pay 3x the price and 10x the price of used factory equipment. I don't my car to sound l ike a obnoxious goose.

The DSM BOV can easily be outperformed in flow. It has a small outlet compared to say a Tial BOV. The Tial probably flows twice as much air as a quick guess. Then you can get into details like faster valve opening, adjustability and such, but it's not hard to make a better (or worse) BOV.

You could make the case though that two or three DSM BOVs are about all anyone in SR20 world would ever need and still is super cheap. =P

I've only put them on cars, where would you put one on a human?

Haha, sorry, that's what I pictured when I read the thread title. I bought one uncrushed from eBay and it must have been messed up. I got compressor surge like a sonofabitch no matter where I connected the vacuum line. Most people don't seem to have any issues though. I ended up replacing it with a greddy rs.

^adjust ability I can set it to w.e. vaccum I want it to open at and it also has a boost source to make sure it stays closed. I'm sorry but I rather buy a proper bov that I can adjust and know it is set exactly how I want it. Rather than destroy a $1,300 turbo. That's just me though I don't cheap out on things. I had a dsm on my t-25 setup and at 18psi I would get compressor surge so I upgraded to the type-s and guess what no surge. On my new turbo I doubt the dsm would perform adequately.

Sometime things work for other people, while other time it doesn't. I think the bov works great when you have dsm's doing 300hp to 400hp on simple stock part that have been modified to perform even better. Plus dsm's just break all the time, so they need the extra money rather than buying aftermarket

What's a good upgrade from the DSV for a bigger turbo and higher boost? I could maybe see 20+ psi on my 2871 and don't think the DSM will hold. I'm thinking maybe the Greddy Type-R? I think flange is the same.
