Thread: Fastest turbo install time?

My first turbo setup took me about a week (t3/t04b+homemadelog manifold+homemade pipng etc.) Most of the timeconsisted of me running around going to ace/advance/napa on bus/foot. First time going boost so I was missing a buch of little stuff (tap, fittings, hose, etc)

My brother and I did my last t25 kit from scratch over the weekend tuned and ready to go. Took our time and the car never hiccuped.

Damn I miss my car lol

If you are going to do a turbo install take your time, rushing will only make the whole process longer.

Glad to see there are still mature folks on the forums who don't waste time post whoring!

My friend boosted his b15 in about a week but he did everything all at once. I don't want to install everything at once because I think it's going to be much easier to troubleshoot in steps if and when something goes wrong. Honestly from seeing the amount of work that went into his install I'm sure we could do it again in 2 days if we really worked all day. I don't think we could get the turbo installed and have the car tuned in 2 days but it would be running!

So you're saying you did an turbo engine swap, welded new IC piping, and welded up a new exhaust in 1 hour 45 minutes? That has BS written all over it. It takes about that just to weld up a new exhaust, sometimes longer. I bet the books give you a good 15-20 hours to do all that, if not more. Not like i care, but don't come in here lying about it.

I did my VE engine swap, and turbo install in 3 days. Smoking alot of pot, drinking, swearing, sweating....and having it all come together just fine.

Actually i lied. I did my swap in 30 minutes. That includes drinking a beer and running to the store to get fluids.....

I got you all beat. I did my swap in 15 min.


Helps when you have a NASCAR pit crew helping.

I usually do a DET swap in a day, that is me getting up in the morning to a running NA car and going to bed late at night with a running DET car.

when i got my hand's in my b13 was 1.6l and a/t the day i swapped to m/t y did it in 8 hour
but i already had everything i need it y just took the a/t trans out and the m/t from each car (not to mention they were side bye side and have all the tool i need it) and was all take out,trow out wat did not need,put everything,start the car...and after 15 minutes later comes the b.a.b.o.(big ass burn out)

then the sr20det swap took me like a month cause did not have any help and couldn't find the parts i need it the day a need them so had to wait until everything come along... jut to brake the car in 2 week's that's why u have to take time to do everything right, now im starting from .0 but at least i will know wha's really inside the engine.
