They're the Honda B16A Golden Eagle headstuds. Some people are running with them on their turbo builds and finding success.

My opinion, that is way over built for 425WHP just cause you want to keep the GT2871R turbo. You could get a bigger turbo that spools well with less boost and not need the build up. However, if you are building for future power increases, then all the power to you!

I like the build but I'm also skeptical about the head studs and head gasket choice. I probably wouldn't bother with an AEM but that's mostly because I can't understand it. Shop owners are always trying to sell me a Power FC or something.

Standalone > All

Don't knock them until you tried one. Regardless the HP output they are better.

^Good luck with the build Stratton.

^That woud be balla just for the heck of it.

thanks for the info guys.

i honestly think ill be fine with the cometic, people have been using them for years with great success, as with the arp head studs, from what ive been told, the newer ones have been re-designed. so with those i think i will be fine. i think its all how the motor is assembeled.

i was hesitant to go with the aem but i was assured it was the truth, and really it is. its expensive yes, but i was getting fed up with jwt's and calum ecu's to tell the truth.

going to the bank to deposit some money , consolidate some accounts and get home and order some parts from greg v.

ill hopefully get to post up pics this afternoon. block is off to the machine shop today or tomorrow i believe.

Well you don't hesitate. That's the first rule because he who hesitates is lost. Your build will be pretty dope.

I dont think you guys are understanding why hes going Stand Alone. I pretty much have the same setup except my turbo is a Bit different. 750cc inj, Z32maf, safc2, and JWT ECU. Tuned by me At 20lbs of boost Im putting out 350whp. The SAFC and a JWT ECU can only do so much. You need to be able to play with the timing and get it perfectly on point for you to hit 400whp. An Safc and chipped ECU will get you really close and it will be simple. But to get the most out of a turbo you need a stand alone. Turning up the boost more is only a crutch if you cant touch your timing.

Also all you guys saying go with a bigger turbo need to think about response. Why go with a bigger turbo just to have a less responsive car. Sure itll make the same peak power or a bit more. But the bigger turbo wont have the same response OR power band. If you could have almost t25 like spool AND top end. Why would you want to swtich turbos just to make the same power with less down low power. Sure you can run less boost. But running 20lbs isnt really a problem with these motors. Even stock. Mine took over 3 years of DAILY abuse before I either cracked a piston or a ring. (Not sure which it is and really dont care at this point since a new motor is cheap)
