How do I put the car in Timing mode? Do I just need to unplug the tps? I haven't not done anything for that yet.
I'll try do a comp test that way once I get some time. Thanks

here is the procedure to do a comp test. if the numbers are still low put a few table spoons of oil in and retest.

The proper way to do a compression test on a nissan is as follows.
1) warm car to normal operating temp(not to hot or to cold)
2) remove fuel pump fuse
3) start car and allow fuel pump lines to be cleared
4) attempt to start car a few times after it stalls
5) remove all spark plugs
6) disconnect distributor at harness
7) Hold the gas pedal down
8) crank car until the highest reading is reached
9) repeat on each cylinder

that's kinda what I was thinking. I still need to make something to pressure check for boost leaks. There's no other way to accurately check besides making a pvc cap with a fill nipple thing in it and fill the lines with air right?
Thanks

no idea why it does that. I'm still not sure how to completly use the boost controller yet. Never used one before so i'm still figuring it out.

I'm sure that greddy should have some switches or something to set up for that type of turbo setup.

That timing should be horribly set with the distributor all advanced (or is it all retarded? Did u check with a timing gun and did the timing mode dance?). Or the chain skipped a tooth on the cam gears...

Why it that you crank the timing and expect your afr to change or get better? Set you timing to 15 degrees and fix your boost leak.

I just set the timing to where it was running best. I tried setting it to the same place where a buddy's identical set-up is at and it doen't really pick up on acceleration how it should. It just backfires and kinda bogs down.
And wouldn't having a retarded timing cause a richer fuel mixture?

You don't want your timing too far advanced under boost, that's bad bananas. Get a timing light on it and definitely try to get it into Timing Mode (you can find instructions in here if you search for it), and set it at 15 degrees. Start from there.

My guess is, is you either have a boost leak, or you are having compressions problems. It is also possible that your cam timing is off. My recommendation: set your timing correctly (with a timing light), search for boost leaks, and lastly do another compression check. If that doesn't fix it - check your cam timing.

I did both. With the timing light, it was very jumpy and inconstant. Probably cause I forgot to unplug the tps?
