DET Idle issues, Running SUPER Rich! help
Hey guys, fresh DET swap into my P11. I'm having some issues and need some help! Here's what's going on

I start it, it will roughly idle for a few seconds bogggggg and die. I'll try in again and it will barely start and if it does, it turns right off. It's running either crazy rich or it's not burning the fuel. If I give it gas, it dies instantly. I know there is a bunch of unburnt fuel because it's leaking from my downpipe onto the ground(exhaust not on).

Here's are some possibilities:

1. Injector harness is backwards(Injector 1 is on cylinder 4). Would it even idle or is this even a possibility?

2. MAF Sensor(DE). I did have to extend the MAF sensor harness but all the tests in the FSM need it to be at warm temperatures, I can't get it to stay on for more that 5-10 seconds. How do i eliminate this as a possibility?

3. Timing? idk, I didn't touch internals and I know the motor is good. I know the motor is good as is came out of my other P11.

4. Bad Spark?

5. Too much fuel, injector issue etc.

6. BIG vacuum/boost leak. Without a pressure tester, it seems to be fine. I think I would notice a big enough leak that would cause it to not idle. (But still a possibility)

7. Sensors, Temp sensors and everything else are all USDM sensors. Again, this motor was running in my other P11

Anything else? I haven't tested for much because I'm not sure where to start. If you can help me diagnose that would be awesome. LMK!!

UPDATE:: I know it's been a while but here's the update. MAF, Distributer, TPS, and CTS are good. The apparent issue is that my injectors are just DUMPING fuel. Not proportioning the fuel as they are suppose to. We know this because when the distributer is disconnected, we can hear the plugs fire, but the injectors just click once(I'm assuming they are just Dumping fuel, staying open) I'm pretty sure they are suppose to just click with every turn of the distributer. What can cause this? and how can I test for this?

Thanks

assuming your maf is up to par, a bad cts coolant temp sensor can cause a really rich condition if it thinks the engine is cold all the time, i had them go bad and it was seriously rich

^but rich enough to not even idle?

in my expierence yes i have had it to the point was it was extrely rich and would not idle since it thought my engine was freezing cold it was dumping alot of fuel for no reason. thats just my expierence with a bad cts test it and make sure its good

for kicks unplug the cts and try starting it and see what it does

my cts was so bad that the car wouldnt even start. its richins the car up but ALSO it messes with your timing aswell....

^ right if it goes bad and it thinks the engine is hot it can dump fuel and retard timing, this can mess up starting and cause issues as such, also if the cts thinks its cold it will keep dumping fuel and never stop

If I disconnect it what kinda of results would I see?

Although the cts is a great idea and one i'll look into, I find it hard to believe it would fail in between the time I swapped the motor from one car to another. I'm starting to really consider my injector harness is backwards. I had it the other way but was told it was wrong and switched it so that the loom is coming from the timing chain side, ending at cyl 4. I had to extend it to make it fit that way.

the car will not run if the injector harness is back wards. the firing order would be all wrong.

^it doesn't run, wouldn't it just misfire like crazy?
