Thread: turbo questions

OK so looking at pictures of other sr20's with turbos mine just looks weird. Like ive said in other threads ive fixed alot of weird things, but i never have had a turbo sr20. Ill be taking pics later if the sun comes out and it stops raining, but for now ill explain the best i can. Ive been having like a power cut off when i slam on the pedal, but if i put the gas on slowly i have zero issues and a **** load of power, At first i thought this was maybe a fuel issue, but after looking at pictures im wondering if it is this?

Ive seen in photos that off the turbo where the filter goes usually people have it coming up into the area where the battery is, to get more air. Mine just has a short 1 foot tube and then the filter. Its pretty much under the battery between the motor and the radiator. Could this be one of my issues? when i slam on the gas. Just seems some of the turbo piping just looks off from what ive seen in other pictures. Its the u13 det motor. Its bad when a ve can more than kick my ass, so i know something is going on.

thats wierd. Idk that the intake being short would really make it do that tho. I know on my setup, the pipe is where the battery is because I'm running draw through so I need somewhere to recirculate the BOV to. It would be really tough to route a hose to an intake pipe all the way down there. That might be why a lot of the pictures you see are like that.

its not that. what are your spark plugs gapped to and how much boost are you running.

7 lbs boost, the manual boost controller doesnt work at all. I planned on putting new plugs and wires on sicne the ones they have now are ****. Havent checked the gap yet.

Check ignition timing and the throttle position sensor
