Turbo exhaust ? 3" to 2.5
ok i have a basic de+t setup and currently open 3in jgy dp. Im getting my exhaust done this week and i dont wanna spend to much but most muffler shops only offer 2.5" piping. Would there be and pros or cons of running my 3" to a 2.5" all the way back? im not a big hp junkie. I just dont wanna lose power. But if it will cost my power then ill spend a little more and get 3" all the way back

Power potential goes like this for you:

Least
2.5" downpipe and 2.5" exhaust
2.5" downpipe and 3" exhaust
3" downpipe and 2.5" exhaust
3" downpipe and 3" exhaust
Most

You're going to have to make up your own mind.

go with the 3" all the way back ty. one draw back no matter what size you go is that your getting it done at a muffler shop which means crush bent exhaust. wont loose much but crush bent is not as free-flowing as mendrel. also u might wanna upgrade that maf since u have the safc to do so....

3" all the way 2.5 is a waste of money IMO as you will lose power.

3" DP with a 3" electric cutout and 2.5" cat back. That's the way to go.

I agree, but, I could not fit a 3" DP so I ran 2.5" DP to 3" exhaust all the way back, no cat. I'm happy.....

at what point does it seem pointless for that setup? It seems that it is highly rare if anyone goes larger than 3". Why is 3" such a magical #?
