Thread: GTiR head knock

Hey Guys,

The infamous GTi-R head knock is getting louder. Today I took the valve cover off. I notice when the cam is (up) or away from the rocker. The space between the rocker and the cam lobe is about 2-3 miller meter. Does anyone know the proper procedure in shimming the GTi-R solid lifter and what the space between the rocker and the cam lobe should be?

Any advice or link that can help would be gladly appreciated!

PS: I remember reading some about shimming the solid lifter a few years ago, however I tired searching for information on the sr20 forum and Google and was unable to find that info.
