Thread: Painting My Gtir Ext. Mani....what Spray Can To Use?

like title says i wanna paint my turbo mani flat or gloss black but dont know what spray can use from advance auto parts so the paint wont burn off so help ya boy out! PICS WILL BE NICE TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

get one good up to over 1000 deg.

they sell those at advance..? i think ive seen up to like 450 0r 500 heat temp but i wasnt really paying attention to them....

dont even bother. they do sell thoes at advace. the 1200 degree one but its still not going to work for long. It will eventually burn off or fade.

Why not get a swain coating. Will keep your underhood temps down.

You need something that will hold up to 1,600°F or more. Turbo manifolds can easily get to 1,600°F or more.

They have 2,000°F paint at my local parts store I believe. VHT makes it I believe.

The typical 1,200°F BBQ paint is only good for post-turbo stuff.

that will work the best but it will still burn off or fade. Ive used everything! nuthing will work 100 percent without spending some COIN.

Yah it's going to work okay. It will work best too if you follow the curing instructions on the can. However, Jensen has a point. No spay can is going to last or perform like a good SWAIN or similar ceramic coating.
