Thread: what is this turbo missing?

ok so i bought this off a member but it doesnt seem that he knows much about it.. it seems to me like if there is something missing.. some bolts are missing in the compressor side and the bolts on the exhaust side were all loose.

it is missing the c rings that go around, they keep the turbine housing on and tight same with compressor

missing the bolts and brackets that hold the compressor housing in place.

now where do i find what its missing?

your nearest turbo repair shop should have what your looking for, sad to see a forum member doing another like this

it is not missing anything on the cold side from what i can see most of the smaller garrett turbos use a snap ring to hold the cover on rather than bolts. those two empty holes that you see in the pic is where on my car my internal wastegate was bolted .

But the exhaust side is missing two flat plates that look like the letter c . they go under the bolts almost like a washer .

i knew it.. there was just something wierd about this turbo to begin with.. its prolly shot from what this is turning into..

I probably have what you need, I got a blown t25 laying around.
