Hesitation, bogging under boost
Hey Guys I just made the sr20de+t conversion on my 96 se-r this past weekend.
-Avenir t25 and manifold
-JWT ECU
-370cc's
-7psi
-3-an oil feed line off of the stock oil pressure sender location, no restrictor.

I checked the car for leaks on the first start up and didnt see anything so I took it for a drive. The motor was bogging and hesitating under boost so I drove back to my house. When I got back I could smell burning and saw that oil was leaking out of the turbine housing and onto my downpipe. There is no shaft play in the turbo and no oil in the compressor piping.
-Is the bogging and hesitating because there is too much oil getting in the turbo from no restrictor?

Thanks in advance

do you have a wideband to check the afrs when this bogging and hesitation starts?

I doubt it. I have pretty much the same setup on mine except with a bluebird man/turbo and I have no restrictor. My feed line is bigger too. (-4an) My car runs fine without it although maybe the banjo fitting acts as a restricotr. Anywho, I don't think that would make your car bog under boost.

my wideband jumps around when I try to hit boost and wont give me an accurate reading. I realized i never adjusted my spark plug gap before I went turbo so I pulled them yesterday and they were fried. Im not sure if its leaning out because of turbo or if it was a timing issue before turbo. So im gonna pick up some BKR7E's and see if the boost hesitation goes away. The oil leak must be unrelated but is still confusing to me...

I ran it with the stock spark plug gap, would that be the cause of it burning too hot? I'm attempting to boost at 7psi.

try colder plugs and close the gap.

Hey guys thanks for all the help. I changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter and fixed a couple vac leaks. It boosts really well. I just gotta fix the wastegate because I hit 17 pounds last night....

Did any of you catch what he posted up I now the boosting was because of the plugs that was fixed. But no one reply saying that your turbo might need a rebuild. Unless T25 are supposed to leak oil from there
