Cometic and ARP's. They don't seem to like 20psi of boost.

You never pushed over 15psi. I daily drive mine at 19psi+ of boost

i have personally seen a cometic and arps last two race seasons at 35 psi and never have a problem

Should be fine with vet gasket and eagle studs.

Use jensens GE since he won't be using it for awhile.

That means new intake manifold, rerouting the intercooler piping, and POSSIBLY changing up the exhaust manifold. No thanks. Not yet anyway. Remember, this is a daily driver, not a weekend special.

As much as I want to, I'm staying lowport DE head for now.

Sike! Jen's block is going back together very soon. I'll be putting two blocks together at the same time, and I'm okay with that.

ditch the cometic gasket and arp's Cliff. I have been saying this for a long time now.

I dont care if other people have had success with them, They have proven themselves not to hold on many occasions. You may have gotten lucky with them but they are known to fail.

I have been using a Cosworth Headgasket, which i highly suggest to you Cliff as well even over the vet gasket. The Cosworth gasket is awesome, Just clean up the surfaces, throw it on and go. And with the torque sequence of the Golden Eagle studs the gasket works great, smashes down great and seals awesome and never had any head lift at all. Never anything less than 19psi of boost and alot of time at 30+ psi and roughly 550whp and never a sign of gasket problems.

When i took the head off the gasket looked awesome. Came off nice and clean. You can see the nice wide black marking perfectly around the bore where the firing ring sealed and the seals around all the oil galleys and ports. Nice dark colored marks around critical areas and nowhere else.

Like ive said a million times. F the ARP head studs. They shouldnt even be allowed to sell them in my opinion. They are just very poorly designed and more people than not have had major problems using them especially with the cometic gasket.

Cosworth/Golden Eagle Combo FTW

I will be using this same combo with the same motor with this next setup. I can bet you i wont have issues with the head lifting even at 35+psi maybe nearing 40psi.

Hope you get it resolved.

There is nothing wrong with a cometic gasket. They have been proven to take tons of abuse for extended periods of time.

The same with the VET gasket. Yes the cosworth is a nice gasket but the VET (which he already has) will do him just fine for whatever his power goals are.

true, the vet gasket is very nice as well. Not dissing that one. The cometic doesnt have the engineering work involved as the Cosworth. You can tell just by looking at the two which one is better.

The vet gasket is nice and ive done a couple builds with them. Cheap and effictive.
