Thread: Lifted head (again)

Looks like I'll be driving around without boost for now, the head is apparently lifting under boost (again).

There's a nice coating of oil all over the rear (rear main that is) of the motor, below the mating surface of head to block. No apparent oil leaking from the distributor. I figured I'd have more time to run the motor after re-torquing the head studs, but apparently it's not working.

I already bought a VE metal headgasket, now to buy the Golden Eagle headstuds.

I just hope I don't encounter any issues when driving home from NJ to MD on Friday =\

should have no problems with the ve metal gasket and the golden eagle head studs. I have both going on my ve-t.

Golden eagle studs + VET gasket has been holding steady abuse for over a year now. Re-used both on the VE head also.

That sucks man ....your still up in NJ? the golden eagle studs and a VE head gasket should do the trick hope nothing is warped or anything , looks like me and the wife are going to try to head out to visit our friends in Edgewood MD late this summer , or ealy fall hope your around when we go out there, se sill stop and say hi as well when we are out there

what are you currently using for studs? I currently have a cometic and ARP's, hoping this will do the job, if not I may have to invest in somethig better.

I never had a problem with my cometic and arps. If i ever do build a motor again it would be with the golden eagle and vet gasket though from what I have seen
