ive made just a CH under 400 on stock GTIR rods/pistons. if you're on a budget, ive got a set of CP 8.5:1 pistons for sale. hit me up if you might be interested.

Its for a daily but not really on a budget... eagle rods and what pistons? Use 8cw crank from a de?

I would not use stock det piston because they have no valve reliefs. The stock gtir rods are very strong but are pretty heavy. You can pick up rods and pistons for about 820-850 shipped. I would use manley rods over eagle they are the same price. I would also use the 8cw crank from a de or det along with the girdle. Throw in some valve springs/retainers, ve metal head gasket, and new fasteners. this will make a good dd motor.
