Yea, I can't believe it blew up under such low stress. I guess all those rolling 3rd gear burnouts did them in huh?

uuuuh...gearbox problems....i was wondering why yours lasted for such a long time. I blew 4 last year and last weekend my second for this year :-(
And i am not Drag-Racing

The final blew can come with low stress...its the stress over the time...

Now i am searching for a tranny upgrade.... maybe z32 maybe something else

my mate has a HKS DOG BOX, thats so super cool, slamming the gears in without clutching....so much fun

LOL! Your wife is so cool about it though! She just laughs at you and teases a bit. My wife would be the opposite (POS TIN CAN CAR! JUST GET RID OF IT IT'S NEVER GOING TO RUN RIGHT!)

this time get the gear stack magnafluxed prior to install. You never know you may have had a weak gear stack to begin with.

Damn Coheed, you are scaring me from going turbo. I'm not sure I have the patience & time to replace all those tranny parts on a regular basis. The vid was very bada**, the look on your son's face was priceless with your wife commentating. Strong a** VE-T FTW.

There ya go!!

I know, you are worried about inspection and the code the transmission would throw. But, isn't there a way to drill the gearbox and install the crank angle sensor if need be?? If so, you should be more than capable, correct??

I am just saying. After you rebuild this one, and then go out and get a 6 speed swap, to me the 6 speed is still somewhat "unproven" (although most things point to it being fairly stronger than the P11). And I am pretty sure by the time you add up the price for rebuild and the addition price of a 6 speed swap, you will be knocking (if not beating) down the door of the price of the PAR set.

I am pretty sure that gearbox for sale could probably take everything you could throw at and still be under stressed.

The only thing I would worry about if the set is straight cut gears........I have heard Subbies with them, and they seem very civilized from both inside and outside the car as far as NVH are concerned ( a good friend of mine has a straight cut (I think PAR) gearset in his DD WRX)

So the dyno run is delayed until the trans is rebuilt?
