Whose running a codeless SR20DE-T (OBDII)?
Just wondering how many (if any) of you OBDII guys are boosted with no CEL codes? How did you accomplish that? It seems the biggest concern is the lack of the EGR getting recirculated. Would a block off plate be enough to keep the CEL away as long as the sensors are still connected?

Basically the car needs to be OBDII State Inspection friendly. They don't care too much about the visual aspect of the test but it needs to be code free!

Related turbo questions (don't feel like creating a new thread):

1. Do you guys have issues with the primary oxygen sensor hitting the A/C line? On my friend's b15 the oxygen sensor is hitting the line and it bent the sensor which is now throwing a lean mixture code. Is there a smaller sensor that will work?

2. How much power will a stock sr20de clutch hold before slipping? Would a t25 at 7psi produce enough power to make it take a dump right away?

Yeah block off the egr with a blockoff plate and keep all the sensor plugged in and run all your o2 sensors. If the setup is done very well there should be no check engine light.

What my friend did was crimp the actual EGR pipe haha..I told him about the egr block off plate but he had already crimped the pipe. I think the exhaust is still leaking out from the pipe though because I can still smell the exhaust coming into the car!

I always told myself if I boosted my car I NEED it to be as factory-like as possible, especially when it comes to the engine codes and lack of exhaust leaks.

My friend is using slim fans but I don't recall seeing pictures of anyone using the stock fans on a t25 setup. Actually I was searching for pictures but didn't find any! To me it would make more sense keeping the stock fans if they would work with the turbo kit. Makes little sense to pull the stock fans and spend money on slim ones unless it's absolutely NECESSARY.

it should hold 7psi for a little while if you are easy on the shifts.

I had no codes for a while. But then my rear o2 got jacked up and it has been on ever since.

To register the car this year I have to run without the MSD box, and fix the rear O2. Then I can make 500whp in a OBD2 compliant (sorta) vehicle. lol.

I have stock fans, been on my DE+T setup and now on my DET they are kind of in the way but I will be upgrading to slims when I put the bigger turbo on next year... Still didn't stop me from throwing a code, I have a JWT ECU and they throw a code automatically.

The only code I know of that they will throw is a knock sensor code. but it is a ghost code and won't throw the cel.

what codes are you throwing?

I have the stock fans on my B13 with T25. I didn't have a problem with them. I did however have a problem with the stock fans on my B14 with the VE and SSAC header. You have to put the passenger side fan in first from the driver side and slide it over.

I'd say I don't have a problem with the stock O2 hitting my A/C lines, but I don't have any of my A/C in my B13. It's all bye-bye now.

Have not had a code in 2.5 yrs of being boosted. I don't have any EGR stuff except for the solenoid plugged in, not even the EGR temp sensor is plugged in, and the ECU (Calum) stays happy. If you run a 95 ECU, it's still OBDII, but does not have as much of the emissions crap on it, so it will be happier than a 96 or 97. That's my way around it.

Some log manifolds have the threaded hole for the EGR pipe.

Crank angle sensor, it was removed for the DE+t swap and then I replaced it when I did the DET swap but still throwing the code, It's been off and on a couple times since I drive the car almost bi-weekly so I need to re-check it. Either way if my CEL is not on I think there's something wrong. I know it's bass ackwards but It keeps me on my toes.
