For people with experience with 6 puck / HD ACT clutch combo
So I recently had my clutch cable replaced due to it breaking however because of the location I was in when it happened I had another shop put the cable in. I went with a 1.6 cable due to all the praise they seem to get.

Fast forward to I get my car back, and start driving on the freeway only to notice a lot of clutch slippage which I never had before. Looks like the 1.6 cable is so short that my clutch wasn't engaging.

Since then I modified the bracket so that I will have more slack on the cable. I think its too late though as my clutch slips badly in 5th on the freeway.

The setup I have is pretty sturdy, so do you think I can maybe salvage the pressure plate, or maybe salvage both and machine the flywheel? I wanted to know if anyone has had the same problem or maybe just knows more about how these clutches look after being used.

Keep in mind this has been on my sentra (while turbo) for two years without slipping until this happened.

if the clutch measures 8mm thick then it is still good. If it is too worn, replace the disk. The pp is prob just fine. Refinish it with 80 grit sandpaper to take out any hot spots. If your clutch slips, you need more clutch. I would get a more aggressive disk before going heavier on the pp. Cables like to break with too much pp. I run a slightly modified stock PP ala JWT and a sintered iron disk. It holds power good so far, though I haven't really done a full run through 4th gear.

I'm thinking I should just grab a new disk, so that I'm not wasting my time. Keep in mind it held great until the last clutch cable install due to the length and not allowing the clutch to fully engage. The pressure plate I was thinking I can clean up just like you said, and then I have a spare flywheel laying around I can get machined and install. Maybe even time to go to an 11 pound...

Is it still slipping? If you remember when I put in my VE the clutch was slipping in 1/2nd gear, and after adjustment its still holding all the boost I've thrown at it.

I'd guess your pressure plate is ok but if the disc is toast I'd want to have a new one on hand to throw in there. Clutchmasters imo.
