Thread: highest boost on a stock block with stock de headgasket

i want to hear from you guys with experience.

i have a sr20de-t (high compression)
my highest boost is 13 lbs
i want to hear for u guys.

any one ever go over 15 lbs?

It's all in tuning. Not really how much it will hold. A DE will take a lot. On good gas my old 10:1 motor saw 20-22 pounds of boost and it took it like a champ. This was with a basic T3 T4

On pump gas I was at about 15-16 pounds.

I have seen stock block DE's hold 25 pounds of boost with a 50 shot of nitrous on top of that.

im with rican, 15-16 should be fine

is this an everyday thread because I swear we should just sticky one of them and be done with it.

Depending on the turbo its a matter how much power not boost.. for ex for a stock De DET (not gti-r)over 500whp is asking for trouble on the head studs...rods and of course the pistons.

how about nearly 400whp on 93 octane fuel with methanol injection and good tunning on a stock avenir DET with S4s...?

No problem all day long.

Methanol injection is KEY here.

Without it expect the motor not to last long, if you're pushing 400whp on 93 pump with stock internals that haven't been put together fresh.

New stock internals, on the other hand, is subject to how well you put it together.

i plan on doing about 18psi as a max pump.

race fuel ill maybe do 20psi (very rarely)

im on 16psi on my 718r .86ex and the car is fine.

its good to hear other peoples takes on what a stock de can handle. nismonick, rob, lance and a few others have posted some really good numbers on stock de's !
