well thanks guys I've been wondering if i were to use this setup is the 12 psi too much and would it make anymore power than a T25. I would think b/c of the compressor and exducer wheels that i should be about the same as the .64 turbine on the normal RWD T28 am I wrong?
Seems like the extra money/effort may not be worth it ie.. $250 turbo $100 rebuild then a $250 turbine housing = $600 IIRC GregV sells the GTI-R new for 800 and the disco is like $1200 seems kind of upside down unless i can find a used housing.

any thoughts I really appreciate all the responses I'm happy to finally have my sr swap done. Plus it seems like it may be interesting i don't think I've seen it before

I know that people swap the gt28r comp cover on the gti-r but I cannot remember seeing a .64 housing on one.

if you want to autocross i would stick with the smaller AR for more bottom end to mid range, the larger ar might give you greater mid top end to top end, but not the most ideal for autocross if you ask me

Keep the 0.64 its good to about 400whp so do not worry.
cheers.

It's not a GTiR turbo then, it'll be a RWD T28 or a mix 'n match. A .64 housing and a .86 turbine wheel would hit each other.
What are the numbers on the build plate?

My advice is go for an external wastegate & get more flow than you would with a .86, but without any loss of response.

The metal plate on the CHRA has
TI 0813J
14411-54C00
465997-1

I can take pics tomm if that will help and I plan on using a f38 tial

isn't the 14411-54C00 a GTI-R?
The compressor housing is 6" in dia.

buy a used gtir t28 for 400 dollar or less. youll be happy with it.

when your bored of that you can then sell that for about the same you bought it for and upgrade to a bigger turbo.

i wouldnt even waste my time re-building an oem turbo when they can be had for super cheap.

stratton.

Yep that's a GTiR turbo. I suspect someone's rebuilt it previously and replaced the GTiR turbine wheel with a RWD one.
