and don't forget to change the engine management. Keep your jwt for emissions. This is why I have a aem ems and water/meth going in my car. Good luck on the next build.

But its looking like they did everything I wouldve. Hell I havent had to touch my SAFC yet!

Thanks johnny. I talked to Andreas about my tune long ago, but those fl guys are using the same one and making over 500whp. Not the tune I guess?

Perhpas those oil squirters NOT cooling the pistons caused this lol. That's the theory I'm sticking with ha ha. It was all the piston's fault

But yes, I've been driving it around, and dynoing it, and driving it, and beating the hell out of it... with the insides looking like this. Had I not torn the engine down, I would have kept beating on it until the pistons were completely gone. That could have taken a while considering how long I was driving it like this.

It's crazy. This isn't something that happened last week. This is something that happened over a year ago. When Dre said running 24psi on that log mani & pump gas prob broke stuff... he was right heheheh.

I knew somthing was wrong with that motor. Especially since it was not responding to anything you did to it.

wow......That is alot of detonation. How did no one catch that on the dyno????? You kept changing stuff, but no one heard that?
That is some serious carnage to say the least,

nice carnage man, Yeah you would be surprised how well the sr motors will run even with that much damage. Im more impressed that you didnt blow out your headgasket from the detonation first before anything.

Well the next build should turn out well once you get a good tune down.

Could very well be the pistons didnt have clearancing for the oil squirters? Seen that happen before. Did you rotate and check when assembling?

checked when assembling and it seemed ok. But it could have easily been overlooked. Looks like the pistons just barely kissed the coolers.

Yes, the detonation was severe. Nothing was ever heard though. Not once. I had a knock light hooked up for a period. It showed some crazy detonation at fuel cut. I figured the thing was going off for the rev cut. But the light was red, not orange like it was supposed to be for the "shift light"

live and learn I guess. I got rid of the fuel cut limiter. There wasn't one time I closed a gap, or cracked a ceramic on the plugs when I didn't hit the rev limiter. I am going to be a lil bit more conservative on this next round. 15-16psi pump ok for 9:1? I think it should be ok.

24psi still gonna be ok for 100 octane? Or you guys think I will need q16/c16 for that?

Maybe I will invest in a water injection setup for high boost.

here you can see running to 7500rpm, the motor starts leaning out at fuel cut.

The knock light would just go crazy if I was bouncing the limiter.

~20psi is around my limit with 93 pump and conservative timing, and I'm close to sea level

IMO, if you're above 3800ft. like I was in El Paso, you should consider anything over 20psi a requirement for at least a mix of 50/50 q16/pump.
