The Best All Around turbo for 350-400 WHP is

GT2871R.

CHRA # 446179-0031


The Turbo I love that can manage 450-500WHP is the ( I use this for my SR20VET )

GT3071R with internal wastegate. Which is similar to the Incon GTBB37. The GTBB37 has the larger compressor wheel but same turbine wheel.

These smaller turbos will out run their larger counterparts given you build a car within the power range listed.


If you are using a T3 flange style turbo in the range of 450-600 WHP get a

GT35R, Perfect for 550-650 WHP range

or

GT30R, Perfect for 450-550 WHP range.


Here are my personal opinions on turbos. Bigger is not better. Know your WHP goals and get the smallest turbo that can acomplish what you are looking for. Most people can get a GT2871R and make 400 WHP with no problem and have a FWD SER that can run 11.5 @ 125 MPH.

I have the GT2871R brand spankin new cant wait for the swap.

im running the gt2871r 60 trim with .86 ar made 270bhp at 8.5psi cant beat it

Just to keep things realistic though, don't expect to make 400 whp on pump with a 2871R.

I completely agree with Andreas turbo recommendations though.

I also agree bigger is not always better on the turbos

does that GT3076R bolt on to stock sr turbo manifolds?

Fits perfect on a GTIR and VET Manofold. If you get one order it with the 3 inch compressor inlet.

You serious, you running the t2 flanged 3076r? Hows the transient reponse?

Are you running ext gate or int? If int how bad is the boost creep?

im still pondering on what turbo to use on my build, 20VE head and cams, i was thinking 3071 but i want a protech mani with ext gate, what do you suggest miko?
